Why no gearbox? I guess it’s not about the cost.
Would love to have at least 2 gears, so that this beefy engine is actually used when driving in a city.
BTW, does anyone know power/torque specs of the engine?
@RandomConcepts Agreed, it’s also easier to sequester pollution at a large power plant. For grid balancing and even for individual off-grid homes there are hydrogen systems that can take that daytime pv energy and store it as hydrogen for use at night, just like a battery.
The Volt is a great idea for it’s price range, but this a luxury electric car, which hasn’t been done like this.

while a detroit car company killed its electric car of the future and stuck with an electric-gasoline version it actually went backwards

Please people make nikolai tesla’s dream make it a reality, kill the oil and down with foreign oil and middle east sheikhs. Down with OPEC, electric car is the future and people may complain electricity is made through coal or gas, well electricity is also a renewable source of energy gas is not, so electricity is the future and not gas. We need renewable energy and renewable cars like tesla.

@drummer4christianz Nissan is making the leaf though. Although it’s nowhere as **** as this thing though. I am praying they bring this to Japan because no one here drives over 300 miles in one direction, and even though my c class has a 1.8 supercharged I still spend way to much on gas. Bring electric cars out NOW!!! I will be getting this in the next 2 or 3 years if it comes to the land of the rising sun. The Japanese government is so damn corrupt though, so I can only hope.
Zinc Air power is the future. Lithium Ion batteries are simply too expensive and there is not enough lithium on the planet to make millions of batteries. When lithium becomes scarce, the price will skyrocket and so will the price of Li -ion batteries.
