How Much Does It Cost to Replace a Windshield?

8

I have a crack on the top of the windshield of my 1985 Oldsmobile 98 caused by a stone. I’m wondering approximately how much would the cost be to repair or replace it if I am paying out of pocket. I have a compulsory insurance policy (from Saskatchewan Government Insurance if that matters), but I don’t think I can make a claim since it wasn’t caused by weather or an auto accident.

A windshield for my ’96 Honda Accord cost $215 (US). I used Diamond/Triumph Auto Glass (http://www.diamondautoglass.com/) They even came to my home and did the replacement while I was at work!

It don’t make any difference how the window got broken your comprehend insurance will have to replace your window free of charge for you, it’s the law. Window shops charge insurance company’s $500 to $1200 dollars for the window and labor replacing it. If you buy the window from a window shop they will charge you $150 to $200 dollars, makes you glad you are not an insurance company don’t it.

Well it looks like you already got your estimate above. Your car will probably run 135.00 to 200.00. Shop around a little…but remember the comercial, grandma says her prices are the lowest..what grandma says…grandma does! LOL! She guarantees! But also…sometimes chips can be fixed.
