@ksengage3 I went to my local GM dealer for the pigtail.
where did you get the pigtail for the switch?
@roadragecustoms Thanks again, I sure hope its not the BCM. maybe not. I found the multifunction switch for 80, online, so I’ll be changing it soon.
@numskull223 Yes it is. Good luck with that & let me know how it turns out. Hopefully, you don’t need a BCM (Body Control Module).
@roadragecustoms Thanks for the help. Multifunction switch is the turn signal and the dimmer, correct.
@numskull223 The body control module is involved in dimming your headlights. It would be easier to diagnose with a good scan tool. I suspect your problem is with the multifunction switch. I’m sorry, I can’t help much more than that without the vehicle here in front of me.

@kromboss Have you tried replacing the left headlight? If so, & it didn’t help, check wiring to left headlight.
Hi! i have a 1995 Nissan pickup truck and the left headlight won’t work and the dash high beam light won’t turn off when i turn on the headlights. the right one is fine! but if i take the left headlight out the dash high beam light turns off and everything is fine but can’t drive with one head light. what can i do or can you help. thanks.
@roadragecustoms its a 1998, S10, 2.2L, Manual 5 speed
@numskull223 Check fuses & relays. Get a wiring diagram & a test light. Check for power in & out of the switches. Let me know year, make & model, & I’ll give more specific info.
@roadragecustoms It was working the day before, then all of a sudden, no high beams, but the indicator is always on. I checked the headlight switch and had no burnt connectors. Then I removed the whole dimmer/turn signal assembly, but I didnt unplug it, I was just looking for wires burnt. I also realized you Dont have to remove the steering wheel to get the switch off. So where would u go from there?
@numskull223 Yes it could be the dimmer switch, headlight switch, bulbs, or wiring.
Will that switch cause the the light to completely go out. Mine dont flicker, but when I dim they go completely out. But my high beam indicator stays on in the dash all the time, so I really don’t know if its the high beams or low beams out.
@infinity3jif Watch my other vid “Repairing Flickering Headlights / DIY Headlight Switch”. I did the same repair on a Grand Marquis with the same problem.
my crown vic does this after about 10 or 15 mins of driving could it also be the headlight switch
@MrMusaalam The pigtail came from a GM dealer. If your problem started when you upgraded the headlights, maybe start by checking them first.
Hi i have 1995 s10 the lights are flikering on it. Checked the switch, which is ok and still does. I got new relay which I will install. My quest is that I upgraded my head light assy. and it started filckering alot. I dont no what is causing this. Plus where did you get the pigtail connector.
Another part of the problem is that GM didn’t use a relay to switch the lights on and off and directed the full current through the switch. Great video, Five stars!
Awesome!
very cool thanks for the answer good info
They are different, but similar. They may have screws near the radio too, I can’t remember for sure.
I usually check with a wiring diagram & verify power in & out. Before I got to that point, I saw that the connector was melting. Off camera I opened up the inside of the switch & it was green with corrosion. This was causing high resistance and heat buildup. That was why the connector melted. Thanks for the comment / question.
Great videos, some of the nicest I’ve seen on youtube 5 stars here
top notch! good stuff!!!!! 5*s
